Project 1: Building Your Personalized Daily Briefing
Put your skills into practice. Learn how to combine search, summarization, and tone-shaping to create an AI that gives you a 'Morning Report' tailored to your interests.
Project: Your "Private Radio Station"
In the previous modules, we covered the theory. Now, it’s time to build something.
We are going to create a Personalized Daily Briefing. Instead of you "Doom-scrolling" through news sites and Twitter (X) every morning, we’re going to help you design a single prompt that fetches exactly what you care about, summarizes it in the style you like, and prepares you for your day.
1. The Goal of the Project
By the end of this lesson, you will have a "Master Prompt" that you can use every morning to:
- Scan the top news in your specific industry.
- Summarize your favorite "Niche" interests (e.g., "New Sourdough recipes" or "Tennis scores").
- Give you a "Motivational Nudge" based on your current big goal.
2. Step 1: The "Search" Phase
You need an AI with real-time web access (like Perplexity, Gemini, or ChatGPT Plus).
The Logic: We want the AI to look for Specific Verticals.
- Industry: Real Estate, Tech, Healthcare, etc.
- Region: Your city's weather and traffic.
- Hobby: A specific sports team or book genre.
3. Step 2: The "Master Prompt" Construction
We are going to use the C.T.F.S. framework we learned in Module 8.
The Component Breakout:
- Context: "I am a busy professional who wants to stay informed on [Tech and Cooking] without spending more than 5 minutes reading."
- Task: "Search the web for the top 3 news stories in [AI Hardware] from the last 24 hours. Also, find a highly-rated recipe for [Spicy Ramen] that takes less than 30 minutes."
- Format: "Provide a 2-sentence summary of each news story with a link. Provide the recipe as a bulleted shopping list."
- Constraints: "Keep the tone 'Snappy and Energetic.' Avoid political news."

4. Step 3: Adding the "Personal Data" Layer
To make this truly yours, paste in a list of your Current Goals for the week (e.g., "Drink 2L of water," "Finish the Quarterly Report," "Walk 10k steps").
Add to Prompt: "Finally, look at my goals for today: [List]. Give me one 'Tough Love' piece of advice on how to make sure I don't procrastinate on the report today."
5. Step 4: Automating the Delivery (Optional)
If you want to be a "Power User," you don't even want to type the prompt every morning.
- On iPhone: Use the Shortcuts app to create a shortcut that "Asks ChatGPT" with your pre-written Master Prompt every morning at 7:00 AM.
- On Android: Use Tasks or a similar automation tool.
The "Morning Report" Template
Copy and paste this into your favorite AI every morning and fill in the brackets [ ]:
"You are my AI Executive Assistant. Today is
[Date].Stage 1 (Search): Search for the 3 most significant news stories in
[Your Industry]and the 2 most interesting developments in[Your Hobby].Stage 2 (Summarize): Summarize each in 2 sentences. Use the tone of
[The Wall Street Journal / A Hypebeast Blog / A Patient Monk].Stage 3 (Personal): Look at my current focus:
[I want to finish my resume today]. Give me a 1-sentence motivational nudge to keep me on track.Format: Return this as a clean Morning Briefing with clear headers."
Summary: From Consumer to Architect
This project moves you from being a Passive Consumer of the internet's noise to an Architect of your own information flow. When you control what you see in the first 5 minutes of your day, you control the "Vibe" and the direction of your entire 24 hours.
In the next project, we will build a Personalized AI Study Assistant to help you master any new topic.
Exercise: The First Run
- Fill in the Template above with your real interests.
- Run it in an AI with web access.
- Reflect: How did it feel to see a "Newspaper" written entirely for you? Was there one story included that you would have missed if you were just scrolling Facebook or Google News?
