Module 14 Wrap-up: The Full-Scale Transition

Hands-on: Deploying to a remote server. Final operational checks before going live.

Module 14 Wrap-up: The Sovereign Engineer

You have completed the technical curriculum. You know how to build, optimize, secure, and scale local AI. You are no longer just a "User" of ChatGPT—you are the Architect of your own intelligence platform.

Hands-on Exercise: The Remote Push

For this final exercise, we will imagine you are deploying your "Resume Bot" (from Module 9) to a high-end remote server.

1. Preparation

Ensure your Modelfile is ready.

2. The SSH Tunnel

Command to run on your local laptop: ssh -L 11434:localhost:11434 user@your-remote-vps-ip

3. The Deployment

Once connected to the remote server, run: ollama create final-bot -f Modelfile

4. The Validation

On your local computer, open a second terminal and run: curl http://localhost:11434/api/generate -d '{"model": "final-bot", "prompt": "Hello"}'

  • Result: If you get a response, you have successfully bridged your local machine to a high-power remote AI engine.

Module 14 Summary

  • Remote VPS setups give you massive power for professional tasks.
  • Hardware Selection is about balancing VRAM capacity and processing speed.
  • CI/CD automates the roll-out of new AI personalities.
  • Local AI ROI is achieved by eliminating token-based variable costs.
  • Disaster Recovery is your responsibility in a self-hosted world.

The Final Step...

You have completed all 14 modules. There is only one thing left: The Capstone Project. This is where you combine everything—RAG, Guardrails, Modelfiles, and APIs—to build a single, unified "Private Local AI Platform."

Module 14 Checklist

  • I can explain why SSH tunnels are safer than open ports.
  • I have compared the cost of my hardware vs. a cloud subscription.
  • I know where my models folder is located for backup purposes.
  • I understand the 3-2-1 backup rule for AI data.
  • I am ready to build the Capstone Project.
