Capstone Projects: Applying Your AI Knowledge
From Chatbot to RAG. Three hands-on projects to prove your mastery of Generative AI fundamentals.
Capstone Projects: The Builder's Challenge
You have the theory. You have the tools. Now, it's time to build. These three projects are designed to simulate real-world tasks that AI Engineers and Product Managers handle every day.
Project 1: The Expert Specialist (Persona & Constraint)
Goal: Build a chatbot that is a world-class expert on one specific topic (e.g., Chess, Vegan Cooking, or 1990s Hip Hop).
Requirements:
- System Prompt: Define a strong, unique persona (tone, background, knowledge).
- Constraints: The bot must refuse to talk about anything else. If you ask about "Politics," it should say: "I only care about [Your Topic], let's get back to it!"
- Output: It must return its final answer inside a Markdown container for better presentation.
Project 2: Talk to Your Data (RAG Simulation)
Goal: Use an AI to answer questions based on a large piece of text that wasn't in its training data (e.g., a the latest company news or a scientific paper).
Requirements:
- The Source: Copy a long article (at least 2,000 words) into the chat.
- The Prompt: "Analyze the provided text. Answer the user's question ONLY using the facts in the text. If the answer is not there, say you don't know."
- The Verification: Ask a question that isn't in the text but is general knowledge. If the AI answers it, you have FAILED (it's called "Bleed"). Refine the prompt until it refuses.
Project 3: The Autonomous Workflow (Agentic)
Goal: Design a 3-step automation where the AI handles the handoff.
Scenario: You are a content marketer.
- Step 1: Tell the AI to research a specific niche (e.g., "Eco-friendly furniture").
- Step 2: Tell it to take that research and write 3 variations of an Instagram caption.
- Step 3: Tell it to format those 3 variations into a JSON object for easy posting.

What's Next?
- For Coders: Move on to Course 4: LangChain (Python) – Complete Step-by-Step.
- For Business Leaders: Move on to Course 3: Agentic AI Development (Advanced).
The future doesn't belong to the AI; it belongs to the humans who know what to ask of it.
