Time Management and Exam Tactics
How to make the most of your time on the exam. A guide to time management and exam tactics.
Beating the Clock
The Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer exam is a 2-hour exam with 50-60 questions. That means you have about 2 minutes per question. To make the most of your time, you need to have a solid time management strategy.
1. The Two-Pass Approach
A good time management strategy is to do two passes through the exam.
- First Pass: Go through the entire exam and answer all the questions that you are confident about. If you are not sure about a question, mark it for review and move on.
- Second Pass: Go back through the exam and answer all the questions that you marked for review.
This approach will ensure that you don't get bogged down on any one question and that you have a chance to answer all the questions that you know.
2. Process of Elimination
If you are not sure about a question, try to use the process of elimination to narrow down your choices. The exam questions are all multiple-choice, so you can often eliminate one or two of the answer choices right away.
3. Don't Overthink It
The exam is not designed to trick you. The questions are all straightforward, so don't overthink them. If you are not sure about a question, go with your gut instinct.
4. Don't Leave Any Questions Blank
There is no penalty for guessing on the exam, so you should never leave a question blank. If you are not sure about a question, make your best guess and move on.
